A man accused of attempting to rob a Fleetwood shop while wearing a balaclava has made his first appearance in court.
Thomas Wilson, 27, of Bold Street, Fleetwood, is charged with trying to rob the Premier Shop, Chatsworth Avenue, of cash and cigarettes on December 6.
Wilson is also accused of behaving in a racially aggravated threatening behaviour towards a worker at the shop.
Malcolm Isherwood, prosecuting, opposed bail for Wilson and asked for the case to be heard at crown court.
Wilson was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on December 22 by District Judge Alan Jones, at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
